Sunday June 21, 1998, Web 98 started at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. I will be in attendance on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and expect it to be an exciting event. Throughout the conference I will check in and post updates to my bulletin board. If there is anything particular you would like me to find out about, leave a message on the board. I'll be checking it daily. I will also update this page in the evenings after the show with updates, photos, and information.
Day One Check in was a breeze, I got my pass and press information quickly, and there was no line. That was really nice. The first thing I did was go to a presentation by Allaire about Cold Fusion. It was really interesting, and I've got several article ideas about Transactive Content and other things from it.
I definitely recommend conventions if you need little things for your office. I came back with a boomerang, a coin purse, lots of flyers, three sample CDs, a t-shirt and a bag. I didn't hit half of the booths, either. More tomorrow... I'm going to be taking more classes and seeing speakers. Check the bulletin board for up-to-the-minute updates, and tomorrow's synopsis linked from this page. All photography on this page courtesy Jennifer Kyrnin, ©1998. The first day was fairly laid back. I got to the conference and just looked around the convention center. I had no idea that taking the train would take so long. I think tomorrow I'll have to read the train schedule.
The Expo floor was fun, filled with people and lots of things to see and do. I got a free subscription to TechWeek magazine, as well as lots of other information and surprises.
